Hello Friends!!!!
WELCOME, to those of you that are new to my PEOPLE I LOVE LIST!!! Sorry I didn't get you on my email list for the previous strange accounts of my preparations for Semester at Sea!
Well, I've finally managed to make it down to my last hours in North America for awhile! How strange does THIS feel!!!!!!!! My family and I have been in Vancouver since Tuesday having a REAL family vacation. We rented bikes and tooled around a park and ate at some AMAZING seafood restaurants! We are living the HIGH life here in Canada! And can I just say, I LOVE CANADIANS!!!!!! Yes, I now believe that sometime in my future life of living in interesting places, I WILL become a Canadian!!!! Ben and Matt, I TOTALLY know now how you are the way you are! YOU WERE RAISED IN A GREAT PLACE! And, I suppose some credit is due your mother and father as well!! :) So, if anyone out there has never experienced the great country of Canada, I suggest you hop in whatever vehicle is closest to you, whether it be a bike, a lawn mower, a van or a Jetta!!! and scoot up north! Anywho, I suppose my Canada plug has made its point! My family and I have spent today bulking up on pens, crayons, coloring books and stickers for all the little kids I'll meet overseas, plenty of snacks for my pack when I'm out at port and peanut butter for the horrible possibility of the ship running out somewhere around India!!! I have randomly met a few of the kids who will be on the ship with me tomorrow, and my mind has been put at ease about making new friends! I'll be just fine! But that doesn't mean at all that any of you can skip by without letting me know you are still alive while I'm gone! I get on the ship at 7:30 tomorrow morning and will stand in line after line after line before getting to my room to unpack and get oriented, while keeping up with my family via walkie talkie as they wait in port for the ok to board and say hello and goodbye! I'll also figure out who my roomate is!!! dun dun duuuuu! A very pivotol feature of my voyage. I'll let you know how it all went when I step foot in Japan and scoot myself to a cyber cafe (I love the nerdy ring of that!) and let you all know what I've been up to! My sister and I are off to pick up my parents who have been at a parents only dinner on board to have their minds put at ease about sending their sons and daughters out to adventure in the wilds of the world! So, I hope to hear from you on the other side of the globe (that's crazy sounding!) and I'll for sure get a bulk email out, but don't be offended if I am unable to send an individual message to you all, I only have so much time and strange foreign currency to use in those cyber boxes!!! Much love to Everyone!!!! I'll miss you all!!! Love Kat
